04/28/2016:Carriers continue their monthly approach to rate increases and advised the next General Rate Increase today, to be effective 06/01/16. Based on this we have filed a GRI today in our tariff as follows:General Rate Increase (GRI) Effective 06/01/16 (date of cargo receipt at origin):From: All Asia (includes Far East) and Indian Sub-Continent Ports of LoadTo: All U.S. and Canadian Ports of Discharge and inland points via said portsUSD 540 per 20′ standard containerUSD 600 per 40′ standard containerUSD 675 per 40′ high-cube containerUSD 675 per 40′ reefer containerUSD 760 per 45′ standard containerUSD 12 w/mThis GRI applies to all rates for dry, reefer, flat rack and open top containers filed in our tariff or agreed to in Negotiated Rate Agreements.In addition, carriers anticipate an increase in cargo demand due to the upcoming seasonal events (Back-To-School, early holiday shipping) and are therefore announcing additional Peak Season Surcharges as of 06/01/16, which we today filed as follows:Peak Season Surcharge (PSS) for all dry, reefer, flat rack and open top containers from Asia and the Indian Sub-Continent to all USA and Canada destinations, as set out below:Scope: East Asia to USA and CanadaEffective Date: June 1, 2016 (date of cargo receipt at origin)To all ports and points in the US and Canada:USD 540 per 20′ standard containerUSD 600 per 40′ standard container (40’ x 8’6”)USD 675 per 40′ high cube container (40’ x 9’6”)USD 760 per 45′ containerUSD 12 w/mThe Peak Season Surcharge (PSS) will be applied on all dry and refrigerated container rates.The Peak Season Surcharge will be charged in addition to the base rates and other surcharges per our tariff and all Negotiated Rate Agreements in place.It is unclear if the market situation will have changed drastically by the end of May to allow the implementation of a GRI and PSS at the same time. We expect increase levels to be amended based on the market outlook closer to the effective date of these planned increases.
04/18/2016:Market conditions allow us to cancel the General Rate Increase effective 04/15/16.Carrier actions for mid-May are unfortunately unpredictable in light of the current outlook on pre-bookings. 03/15/2016:Market conditions allow us to cancel the General Rate Increase filed for 03/15/16.In the past carriers have tended to only offer rates effective for two weeks after certain increases failed to fully materialize. 03/01/2016:Due to market conditions we are able to cancel the General Rate Increase filed for 03/01/16.Following industry trends rates in our tariff will be converted to include Bunker Adjustment Factor (BAF) and Low Sulfur Surcharge (LSS) as of 03/01/16.

01/01/2016:Carriers are apparently anticipating demand increases in advance of Chinese New Year. They took the rather unusual position to extend contract rates subject to the General Rate Increase on 01/01/16 only for 14 days, hoping to be able to push rates higher mid-month after forward bookings for the next month have been fully analyzed. We therefore have to split our filed General Rate Increase effective 01/01/16 into two parts, with the first part at reduced levels taking effect on 01/01/16, and the second part with the remaining balance currently set to take effect on 01/15/16.Following last year’s patterns the carriers will set the final rate levels for 01/15/16 again at the last minute and we will advise it as soon as possible.Our current filing has been amended as follows:General Rate Increase (GRI) Effective 01/01/16 (date of cargo receipt at origin):From: All Asia (includes Far East) Ports of Load
