Typhoon Megi paralyzes Taiwan
Posted on Sep 29
Typhoon Megi already caused severe disruptions in the north
of Taiwan yesterday, and today all of Taiwan suffers from the impact of the
typhoon that killed 5 people and injured more than 600.
Our partners in Taiwan advise that port and airport
operations are disrupted and delays in shipment have to be expected.
The typhoon, now downgraded to a tropical rainstorm, made
landfall early Wednesday morning local time in eastern China near central
Fujian near the city of Putian and is expected to pose a flooding risk due to
heavy rains while the risk of wind damage has diminished.
So far no reports have been received from China on expected
impacts on cargo movements.
