Port of Los Angeles reports 15.6% jump in box volumes

The Port of Los Angeles handled 814,574 TEUs in October.
This represents the busiest month ever at a Western Hemisphere container port.
October volumes were 15.6 percent higher than in October 2015.
The port handled 417,311 TEUs (+16.4%) on the import side and 166,406 TEUs (+23.3%) on the export side (increases measured year-over-year) plus an additional 230,857 TEUs in empty containers.
