Canadian West Coast Ports To Face Congestion And Delays

The Canadian ports of Vancouver and Prince Rupert are expecting delays and congestion into mid-September on some TPEB services partially caused by a shortage of rail cars coupled with a spike in import volumes.
These issues might trickle down into US ports like Tacoma and Seattle that are often the next stops for vessels in West Coast rotations.
The rail car issues are partially related to the earlier strike in the Port of Montreal that disrupted rail car movement across Canada.
Shipments can face delays of up to a week and more.
