The situation in Vietnam remains stressed.
Although factories without COVID cases remain open and operate normally they will be closed down as soon as a case is discovered. Several factories suffer from lack of raw materials due to issues with their suppliers that are closed due to active cases.
Cargo movements are regionally impacted, we ask you to contact your Account Team to confirm the status of specific shipments.
Several partners in Vietnam advise that the expectation is that a nationwide lockdown is expected to be implemented before the end of July.

To combat a new outbreak of COVID-19 the government of Vietnam has ordered a lockdown of Ho Chi Minh City that emerged as the epicenter of the new wave of infections.
As of Friday, July 9, residents of HCMC will only be allowed to leave their homes to buy food and medicine.
Air traffic has already been impacted heavily by flight cancellations, and further problems are expected as many offices will severely have to cut back in-office staffing which will impact import and export operations across the country.
Trucking operations will be severally impacted in the various provinces as drivers have to take mandated tests, this is expected to lead to delays and possibly congestion issues at the main port in HCMC.
We are monitoring the situation and will provide updates as soon as they become available.
