The Trans-Pacific Partnership
Posted on Aug 9
A fast growing region, home to 40% of global GDP and 800 million consumersThe 12 countries of the Trans Pacific Partnership (TPP) account for 40 percent of global GDP and more than 800 million consumers. The TPP includes top markets such as Canada, Mexico and Japan; fast growing Asian markets such as Malaysia and Vietnam; and important Latin American markets such as Peru and Chile. In 2015, TPP countries accounted for 45 percent of all U.S. exports. For U.S. companies, especially small and medium-sized companies, the agreement offers great potential for increasing global sales in today’s increasingly competitive global economy. In 2014, $18.3 billion of Tennessee’s exports went to TPP countries, accounting for 56 percent of Tennessee’s total export sales. At this roundtable event, we will discuss:Opportunities in Latin America and in the Asia PacificHow the TTP cuts through red tape and makes it easier to exportWhat new market access will be provided to American companiesHow the agreement makes for a more level playing fieldHow the TPP will reduce costs for your export salesWho Should Attend:General management, international sales, shipping and documentation staff interested in opportunities in some of the largest and most dynamic countries in Latin America and the Asia Pacific region.Speakers:Judy Rising Reinke, Deputy Director General, U.S. Commercial Service, U.S. Department of Commerce
