Hong Kong Airport Reports Significant Cargo Growth
Posted on Jul 19
Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) cargo volume increased by more than 11% to around 2.3m tons of cargo in the first half of 2017, compared to the same period last year.
In June, cargo throughput of 410,000 tons represented year-on-year growth of 11.4%, confirming HKIA as the world’s number one freight hub in 2016.
The strong half year cargo result was due largely to higher exports coinciding with an improvement in global trade, said an HKIA spokesperson.
